Improvements in quality management
Rhein Chemie started to design a quality management system that meets the requirements of ISO 9001 back in the 1980s. In November 1993, the QM system of Mannheim was audited for the first time by TÜVCERT and certified according to ISO 9001. All of Rhein Chemie’s sites have now been successfully and repeatedly audited and certified.
Certification to DIN EN ISO 14001 was obtained in 2004. The integrated management system is described in a handbook, including the associated standard operating procedures, which cover quality as well as environmental protection and safety.
In 2009/2010 the management systems of all Rhein Chemie sites were integrated into the matrix certificate of the LANXESS group. This laid the basis for globally harmonizing regionally varying activities into a single environmental protection and quality management system and for unifying standards.
