Environmental protection is something we think about even as we are developing new production processes and selecting raw materials and the necessary technologies.
For example improvements at Mannheim site:
- All waste air from chemical processes is incinerated in a modern central exhaust air combustion. Emission levels fully meet limit values laid down by law.
- The volume of waste water from manufacturing processes has been reduced by more than 90% in the last decade due to process optimization and recycling of cleaning water.
- The volume of water used for cooling has been reduced to nearly zero as a result of the construction of water recooling plants.
- Waste materials are separated out for recycling or disposal in a controlled manner. As a result of numerous improvements made to processes, solid waste from production has been reduced by around 75%.
