Traditional mold release agents are used in tire vulcanization, just as in all other molding vulcanization processes. Free silicone oils are inconceivable in this process because they get in between the various tire components and lead to layer adhesion defects that, depending on the use of the tire, can put lives at risk.
The semi-permanent mold release agent Rhenodiv® 60 crosslinks on the surface of the vulcanization mold to create a resilient, durable silicone polymer film that demonstrates excellent release and lubrication properties and in no way compromises layer adhesion.
