Rhein Chemie has developed a new multifunctional processing agent: Aktiplast GE 3808 improves process efficiency

To help its customers make mixing processes more efficient, Rhein Chemie (Qingdao) Ltd. has developed a new multifunctional processing agent for tire and technical rubber good compounds. The word "multifunctional" relates to the masticating agent Aktiplast GE 3808 and the different effects that can be achieved with this product:

 - shorter mixing time because of higher effectiveness in mastication and faster filler incorporation,

- improved dispersion of accelerators and other polar compounding ingredients,

 - better compound flow in extrusion,

 - higher effectiveness of the vulcanization process because of incorporation of soluble zinc ions, thereby facilitating the necessary build-up of intermediate zinc complexes for sulfur vulcanization.

All these effects can significantly reduce processing costs in a plant, while the typical dosage of the new Aktiplast GE 3808 is only 1 to 2 phr in a typical NR or SBR tire or technical rubber good compound. This gives the product an outstanding efficiency-to-cost ratio.

Rhein Chemie (Qingdao) Ltd. has a dedicated application technology team which strives to serve the customers. The rubber laboratory is well equipped with rubber mixing and testing equipment. Since its establishment, it has provided service to numerous customers in China and Asia. It is also an important link in the global R & D network of Rhein Chemie. New products, including polymer-bound chemicals (Rhenogran®) and release agents (Rhenodiv®) developed by the team, have been successfully introduced to the market.

Rhein Chemie is a chemicals company which has had a successful track record in customized additives and service products stretching back over 100 years. The approximately 850-strong workforce produces and sells products for various sectors of the rubber, lubricant and plastics industries worldwide. The company is headquartered in Mannheim-Rheinau Germany and has subsidiaries and production facilities in Europe, Asia and North and South America. Rhein Chemie is a wholly owned subsidiary of the LANXESS Group, Leverkusen, Germany. Rhein Chemie (Qingdao) Ltd., China commenced production in 1999 and produces polymer-bound chemicals, vulcanization and filler activators, processing promoters and release agents for the rubber industry.
