Humidity cabinet

Purpose

 

The method described in this standard is intended to determine the corrosion-preventing properties of anti-corrosion oils and lubricating oils on steel plate in a constant humid atmosphere at 50°C with continuous air supply.

 

Brief description of the method

 

Steel plates of a definite composition, external shape and surface quality are immersed in the sample and suspended after a given dripping or drying period in the humidity cabinet, in which, with a continuous supply of air of 875 ltrs/hr. and at a temperature of 50°C, the relative humidity shall be 100%. After the expiry of the specified test period the steel plates are checked for traces of corrosion.
