Purpose
Phosphorus determination in mineral oil.
Brief description of the method
The concentration of a colored solution is determinable by measuring its light transmitting capacity. The light absorption of a sample of known concentration is measured and then that of the sample to be determined. The Lambert-Beer law allows a statement to be made concerning the connection between the intensity of the light transmitted and the concentration.
