Purpose
Determination of total sulfur content in mineral oil additives.
Brief description of the method
The microprocessor-controlled sulfur analyser SC-32 allows the determination of sulfur contents between 0.005% and 99.99% S with a sensivity of 0.0001% and an accurancy of 1% of the S content within approx. 2 minutes. The sample is burnt or decomposed in a stream of oxygen in the pulse-controlled resistance furnace of the SC-32. The resulting SO2 is then measured by means of a built-in semiconductor infrared detector. The signal from the detector is processed in a microprocessor, the sulfur content being documented directly in % sulfur by means of the digital display and printer.
