Chemical production technician at Rhein Chemie, training to become Industrial Foreman in Chemistry
My responsibilities
After completing my training, I first worked as a chemical production technician in the plant laboratory, where I did shift work in the areas of wastewater, pilot plant and PU production. Once I finished the continuing education program to earn qualification as an Industrial Foreman in Chemistry (Industriemeister Chemie), I became deputy foreman in the Extrusion and Papenmeier Department. After several departments were combined to form a larger unit, I joined a team of three foremen and was primarily responsible for production logistics. Because we had to fill in for each other when necessary, I also became very familiar with the responsibilities of my other team members. When we started building the new Batch Ready plant, I was offered the opportunity to work as foreman there. I accepted the challenge and have been in this position since July 2007.
